"I’ve always been intrigued with pain…

What causes it?  Why did I always feel like I was in pain?  Why does pain hit you like a lightening bolt one minute, and then it completely disappears the next? What really makes pain go away for good?

You see, ever since I was young, I’d get pain in my joints when no one else around me would.  When I was in Middle School, I developed a condition known as Osgood-Schlatter Disease in both of my knees.  It’s caused by repetitive stress on the tendon below the knee cap, that attaches to the thigh muscles and the shin bone.  This repetitive stress causes multiple small fractures of the shin bone, along with chronic inflammation.  Otherwise known as “Growing Pains.”

I’d also develop Achilles Tendonitis every year during sports in Middle School and High School.  This is severe inflammation in the tendon at the bottom of the leg, just above the back of your heel.  My coaches would blame me, saying that I didn’t condition myself enough during the off-season.  Of course I knew that wasn’t true because as a young athlete in middle school and high school, you really never have an off-season.   Besides, I was obsessed with exercise.  I knew for a fact that I would train more than a lot of the guys in my grade.  But even back then I would think to myself, “Why does this happen to me, but not to anyone else on the team?”  So I started to believe my coaches and I blamed myself.  I thought I was just being weak.

Some of you may be able to relate to this, but I also never had any flexibility either.  Again, I was told it was my fault.

The problem is that coaches and doctors back then didn’t know much about the bio-mechanics of the body and how it contributes to injury.  If you have extremely tight hamstring muscles, just stretching “harder” isn’t going to fix the problem.  So, getting the right type of help was very difficult for me.

I even developed Achilles Tendinitis when I was 23 years old going through basic training in the Army (11B).  It started on my second day there, and the pain was excruciating for over 13 straight weeks!  I was the only one in my entire platoon that had to deal with this type of pain every day for over 13 weeks.  Why me?

I love to exercise and lifting weights.  But even though I always used the best form possible when lifting weights, I would still end up with a low back injury, or a neck injury, or a knee injury, when others that use the worst form imaginable would never injure themselves at all.  Why me?

The bottom line is that when you are faced with challenges, you either just give up… or you try to find the answers.  You get tired of people telling you that you need to “live with the pain”.  You get tired of hearing that there is nothing else that can be done for you… You just get tired of not getting any real help.

Well, instead of just listening to the opinions of others, I set out to find the reasons why I was always having a new, or recurring injury.  I knew from personal experience that Chiropractic care always helped me when I was injured.  The only problem was that it seemed to be a temporary solution.

Medicine never helped, except maybe it dulled the pain for a while.  But it never actually “fixes” the problem.  Even as a child, I knew that much.

When I was in my mid 20’s, I was at a crossroads in my life and I needed to make a change with my career.  At that time, I just happened to have tremendous success with a Chiropractor that helped eliminate my shoulder pain that I was dealing with for over 10 years from a previous surgery I had in high school.  I was so amazed at how dealing with the scar tissue, and the muscles and the ligaments, made 11 years of chronic pain literally disappear in only 3 visits!  A couple of months later… I was completing my prerequisites… and soon after, I was in school to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Long story short... Here we are today!

I often tell my patients, and I will tell you now as well…

“My pain is your gain!”

Whatever your current pain is… chances are, I have already dealt with it myself.  Here is just a short list of the things I have done to my body over the years.

  • Osgood-Schlatter Disease
  • Achilles Tendonitis
  • Shin Splints
  • Neck Injury in Football
  • Knee Injury in Track
  • Shoulder Surgery from Football
  • Low Back Injury from Lifting Weights
  • Elbow Tendonitis
  • Fractured Collar Bone
  • Severe Leg Injury at a Sawmill that I worked at in High School
  • Fractured Ankle
  • Multiple Car Accidents
  • Mid Back Injury from Falling on Ice

This is the short list!

And… I have re-injured the same areas of my body numerous times.  You may have a story similar to mine, but hopefully not!  I hope that you might say that you have no idea how your pain started.  (Don’t worry; I’m going to help you figure that out.)

It doesn’t matter how the pain developed, it only matters how we are going to treat it.

Most people don’t think about how the body functions on a daily basis.  What I’ve learned over the years from treating thousands of patients is that most people really don’t care how the body functions, they just want to feel good all the time.  The good news is you don’t have to care how the body functions either.

Follow me.  Let me be your guide.  I created Laser-Vibe Therapy™ with the hope that not only will we get rid of your pain… but we give you the tools to keep the pain from coming back!

Simply put… my mission is to empower my patients with the knowledge and resources to stop the pain, and stop the need to go back to other doctors and therapists.

I want you to succeed with my proven protocol, probably even more than you do.  I have developed Laser-Vibe Therapy™ specifically to help as many people as I possibly can.  Put your trust in us, we won’t let you down.”

Thank you,

Dr. Jason Hurst, DC
